Frank Henry who emigrated to Canada as a Barnardo boy in 1905 was distantly related to Frank Edward MORCOM who went to Canada, also as a Barnado boy, in 1912. The great great grandparents of both Franks were William MORCOM & Elizabeth WATTS

David MORCOM mentions in a note dated 23 Jun 1962 that he had met Fred's son Gerald who had told him that Fred (and his father?) had been waggoners at the china clay mine. Fred obtained the tenancy, presumably of Carnwinnick, in 1930 when he was about 24. Gerald and his brother Cyril (John) owned a 10 acre smallholding and shared the tenancy of Carnwinnick Farm (owner Mr Harvey then aged about 78) where one of the brothers lived.
