GENERAL NOTE:
The Avoca Free Press of Oct 16 1918 reports that "the whole of Mrs R MORCOM's large family are now married and doing well". We do not know, however, how many of the nine children listed had died before 1918. Rachel had a younger brother, E RANDALL, living in Avoca in 1918.In most Electoral Roll entries Rachel is in same road as members of her family, but in the 1931 entries there are two Rachels listed in Dandenong, Melbourne. One of these entries is in the same road, Isaac Road, as Edmund Joseph who belongs to an unrelated MORCOM family and is not known to have married. Is this purely a coincidence or were there two Rachel MORCOMs in Dandenong in 1931? At Boundary Road address in 1931 & 1936 she was "c/o D BARBER".

Unknown whether BERRYMAN was her maiden name, or the name of her previous husband - father of Mary A, born in America c.1849. The 1861 Census for Crofthandy shows a MORCOM household of George, Nanny and Mary A.Weekly News, 16th March 1911."The death of Mrs George MORCOM, occurred at the residence of her husband, atBlenheim, on the night of March the 3rd. At the time of her death, thedeceased lady was 86 years old. She leaves beside, her husband, a daughterand a son to mourn their loss. The late Mrs MORCOM was married in Cornwallover 52 years ago and has been 47 years in New Zealand."
