CHECK: In the 1851 census of Crowan, Cyrus is in the household of John MORCOMB. The version of the census we have seen does not give relationships. He is 11 years younger than any of the other children in the household.His parish marriage record names his father as James Hick MORCOM. We cannot find a James among the relatives of this Crowan familyCyrus is unlikely to be a son of John and Alice as John claimed he was their only son, Samuel having died in infancy. Could Cyrus be an illegitimate son of one of the elder daughters of John and Alice MORCOM, the father possibly being a "James HICK"?
