No marriage found for Jessie or birth certificates for her sons Archibold and Ernest. A long shot if the partner is a MARCOM - could the father have been John Ruby MORCOMB (04487] who married Mary Helena COUCH in Q3 1871? John Ruby not yet found in 1871 census but his parents were living a street or two away from Jessie. But many other MORCOM/B/Es in Plymouth c. 1871.Maybe MORCON is more probable. In which case there is only one male suspect in Plymouth during this period. In 1861 Captain E MARCON, 30, b. St Andrew ,Devon was at the Plymouth Citadel. he does not appear in the 1871 census of Devon, but in 1881 he is listed as Edward MARCON, 50. unmarried, infantry colonel on half pay, b. Plymstock, Devon, living at 9 Stafford Terrace, Plymouth with his unmarried sisters Caroline A, Harriet S and Mary J. Their father was Edward MARCON b. 1795 in Swaffham Norfolk and died in Plymouth in Q2 1869, age 75. He was living, with these three daughters and one other, in Plymouth in 1861. Edward MARCON junior died in St Germans, Cornwall in Q1 1889, age 58.An equally good candidate is George Ernest MARCON, Edwards brother. Nearer Jessie's age than Edward. His family was in Plymouth but in 1861 and 1881 he was at sea in RN vessels Jessie's boys were born c. 1869 and 1870, the first of Edward's sons, by his Canadian wife, Lucy in 1877, and Jessie's daughter Haidee, probably by a different partner in 1879For more detail see entries for Edward MARCON (15001) and his family
