GENERAL NOTE:
An autobiography written by his son Allan in 2001 states that in 1942 William lied about his age to join the Army. His sons had already enrolled. William completed his basic training in Regina and was then sent to Eastern Canada (possibly Halifax), where his deception ws discovered and he was sent home. In his absence, Mary had moved to Regina and William joined her there. The family farm had been run for a year by a neighbour until Walter MORCOM took over.
