GENERAL NOTE:
Some IGI sources record her, almost certainly incorrectly, as Grace WHITE. This may be the result of confusion with Dorothy nee WHITE, the mother of Edmund's first wife Dorothy CRASE, who looked after her grandchildren for a time after her daughter's death. The Butte Montana marriage certificate in 1898 for Grace's step son Albert Edmund MORCOM names his mother as "Grace Morcom whose previous name was Grace Rickard". In the 1861 Census of Illogan District 2, Schedule 036, Edmund MORCOMwas living with or next door to his first wife's parents James and Dorothy CRASE. The next door neighbours of the CRASEs were two unmarried sisters, born in Illogan, Avis RICKHARD, age 43, and Emma Jane RICKHARD, age 30. Could these be relativesof Grace RICKARD who was then in Camborne, the adjacent parish?. The RICKARDs and the CRASEs being neighbours may also be significance in view of family information from Russ BOOR's that Edmund's two wives were cousins. There is an unmarried Grace RICKARD, age 27, in District 2, Schedule 029, the Illogan census of 1871." Note that the Cornish American Connection database says that Mrs Grace MORCOMcame from Illogan. There is no one named Edmund MORCOM in the 1871 census of Cornwall, but an Edmund MORCOM was married in Redruth Qtr. 1 1872 [Ref. 5c 345]. However Free BMD does not show a Grace RICKARD or a Grace WHITE as being married inthe same quarterin Redruth. This may be an erroneous omission or it may be a different Edmund. Too much reliance should not be put on the LDS Family Group Record's entry for a marriage of "Grace WHITE and Edmund MORCOM in California in c. 1874. This is probably no more than a guess based on the eldest son of Edmund and Grace being born in California in 1875 Russ BOOR wrote that many of Grace's descendants settled in and around the farming community known as Star, AdaCounty ID which is a short waysfrom Boise ID". He himself was born in Boise and remembers many of the MORCOMs as Great Uncles and Aunts When they first settled in Idaho, the WERRYs were mainly miners, while the MORCOMs farmed
