GENERAL NOTE:
Francisca Leichhardt LANGSTROTH, believed to be Bertha's maternal grandmother, visited Monterrey, Mexico in March 1908. In a postcard, dated 19th March, she writes to a niece in Wichita, Kansas describing her journey through San Antonio, Texas to Monterrey, and then states "I am living with the young couple, it makes my old heart glad to see such happiness". It is assumed that the young couple were Stanley and Bertha who married in San Antonio, Texas on 28 March 1910. Unless there was an earlier civil or church wedding before March 1908, Francisca would appear to have been either very innocent or very broad minded for her times!
